The friendship between China and Egypt has a long history. As early as 2,000 years ago, the two ancient civilizations of China and Egypt wrote a chapter of mutual understanding and mutual learning through the ancient Silk Road. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations over 60 years ago, China and Egypt have always understood, trusted and supported each other. In 2014, President Xi Jinping and President Sisi jointly upgraded China-Egypt relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership. In January 2016, President Xi Jinping paid a landmark visit to Egypt, pushing China-Egypt relations to a new height. Under the guidance of the leaders of the two states, practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries has accelerated in an all-round way. China and Egypt became a model of sincere cooperation between countries.

In April 2019, President Xi Jinping held the eighth meeting with President Sisi during the second Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum, reaching new important consensus on deepening practical cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The development of bilateral relations enjoys new great opportunities and broad space. The Chinese Embassy in Egypt will spare no effort to implement the consensus reached by the two leaders. It is believed that the friendly cooperation between China and Egypt will benefit the two peoples and contribute to regional and world peace and development.

As the 17th Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, I will continue to forge ahead and make innovative efforts to enhance the profound friendship and practical cooperation between our two countries and peoples. The Chinese Embassy will continue to promote bilateral communication and cooperation and provide necessary information and services to friends from all walks of life.

Cairo is the headquarters of the League of Arab states. The Chinese Embassy in Egypt is also committed to strengthening communication between China and the Arab League, promoting the development of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and making unremitting efforts to upgrade the quality of China-Arab collective cooperation.
