He added both countries are ancient civilizations and their exchanges have promoted the development of world civilization. The vice president stressed that China attaches high importance to Chinese-Egyptian ties and "will always regard Egypt as a key, trustworthy cooperative partner." "Our friendly policy toward Egypt will not change," said Xi. He expressed hope that the two will continue to render mutual understanding and support to each other on issues concerning each country's core interests or concerns. Xi also proposed China and Egypt strengthen coordination on major regional and global issues, share experience on governance and reform, and expand economic and trade cooperation. Both sides should also deepen cooperation in such areas as culture, education, science and technology and agriculture and enrich bilateral strategic cooperative ties.

Morsi said he would like to express cordial greetings and pay high tribute to the Chinese government and people through this visit. He said that Egypt and China are both ancient civilizations and enjoy a long history of friendship between their people. Morsi described Egypt-China ties as "strategic". He described his talks with Hu as being "of significance for consolidating Egyptian-Chinese strategic relations." Morsi said Egypt and China enjoy broad areas and huge potential for their cooperation. He hoped the two countries could further all-round cooperation, especially in the areas of economy and trade, investment, aviation and tourism and learn from each other in the development process so as to push forward the Egyptian-Chinese relations.
