On November 27, 2012, Vice-Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang met with representatives from famous businesses and financial institutions of the United States in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai, who are attending the Annual Dialogue for China-US Business Leaders Cooperation Plan.
Li Keqiang said that over the past 40 years, China and the United States of America have developed their relations from isolation into a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and mutual benefit and cooperation between the two economies, never interdependent before, is becoming increasingly closer, which bring forth great benefits to the peoples of the two countries. Despite the tough recovery of the world economy, trade between China and America is still on the rise and two-way investment is steady. China and America, as the two major economies in the world, will do good to the world economy, if they tackle their own affairs well and strengthen their mutual trust.
Li pointed out that China will try its best to maintain the continuous and healthy development of its economy, promote the overall progress in society and continue to open itself up wider to the outside world, which will bring more cooperation opportunities for other countries. China and America has a big potential for cooperation. The two countries should grasp and make the best of the opportunities and expand their common interest in their respective development and economic restructuring. To do that, the key lies in breaking down irrational investment and trade barriers and settling differences properly. Cooperation is an act of business, which is beneficial to the parties involved, while unfair and irrational man-made barriers will only hurt each other. So it is our hope that American businessmen will take on a long-term perspective, play their due part and stay committed to enhancing the bilateral ties and economic and trade activities of the two countries.
The businessmen of the US remarked that they will continue their efforts to strengthen their communication with China and deepen their economic cooperation with China.

China-US Business Leaders Cooperation Plan, jointly initiated by businessmen of the two countries, is aimed at strengthening the communication and understanding of the economic communities especially the real economic communities of the two countries, promoting difference settlement and improving policies. Members on the US side include leaders from Morgan Stanley, Bridgewater Associates, Fortress Investment Group and Promontory Financial Group and members on the Chinese side include leaders from well-known enterprises in areas of machinery, finance, petrol, information technology and foodstuff.
