On May 10, 2013, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid at Ziguangge of Zhongnanhai.

Li Keqiang said that both China and India are large developing countries and emerging markets. The bilateral relations between the two countries have strategic significance and global impact. The new Chinese government places great importance on developing ties with India. China is willing to enhance political trust, deepen result-oriented cooperation, strengthen understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and expand communication and coordination on international and regional issues, joining the efforts with India to well maintain and develop China-India strategic and cooperative partnership.

Li Keqiang stressed that friendly cooperation is the mainstream of China-India relations and common interests far outweigh differences. The two countries should cherish the good relationship since it has been a hard-won result, and should be more progressive in expanding and deepening cooperation from a long-term perspective and inject new vitality into the economies of the Asia-Pacific region and the world. China is willing to work with India to settle border issues through peaceful and friendly consultations and create favourable conditions for bilateral cooperation and development.

Khurshid said that it is for the benefits of the two peoples to develop friendly relations between India and China as well as for the promotion of regional and global peace and prosperity. India will work with China to send the world a positive signal of mutual trust and mutual support, while effectively control differences and push forward the resolution of border issues.
