In the morning of May 25, 2013, local time, Premier Li Keqiang, who was visiting Switzerland, toured the Einstein House museum in Bern.

As Li Keqiang arrived in the weekend, the streets in Bern were neat and serene. Mauro Dell'Ambrogio, State Secretary of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation, Alexander Tschäppät, Mayor of Bern, and Jakob Messerli, Director of the Historical Museum of Bern, met the Chinese Premier at the entrance to the Einstein museum.

The Einstein House museum is part of Bern History Museum, with rich varieties of exhibits. Li Keqiang listened carefully to the introduction on Einstein's life and research work in Bern, especially on how he came up with his theory of special relativity. Li Keqiang said, Einstein is the pride of Bern, and the glory of the whole mankind. The story of Einstein shows that no imagination, no innovation, and that great achievement would only come out from hard work and the strong will for learning.

Li Keqiang expressed his appreciations when he learned that the Bern History Museum is holding an exhibition of Chinese Terracotta Warriors. He said that, Terracotta Warriors are part of the essence of Chinese history and culture. To stage the two exhibitions at the same time, it is for the hand-shaking of Eastern and Western cultures, and for the collision of the essence of Chinese and Swiss culture beyond the limits of time and space.

Li Keqiang then talked to the local visitors in the museum, asking about their studies and work. When informed that some of them used to study or work in China, he encouraged them to be envoys for China-Switzerland friendship.

One Swiss college student asked Li Keqiang whether he still has time to read as the Chinese Premier. Li Keqiang smiled and answered, however busy he is, he finds time to read. Without reading, There would be no inspiration of ideas, nor understanding of the process of human civilization.

When asked about how China promotes technological innovation, Li Keqiang replied that innovation can create immeasurable wealth. Protection for intellectual property rights must be strengthened to kindle the passion of innovators and to ensure the rewards for them. The enterprises need to emphasize on technological cooperation for their exchanges and come up with products being technologically advanced and meeting the market requirements. The Chinese government takes a series of measures to boost technological innovation. We welcome Swiss and European companies to invest in China.

Time flies in moments of merriness. Before bidding farewell, the museum director Messerli invited Li Keqiang to sign the guestbook. Li Keqiang wrote down "Innovation inspires vigour of the mankind". He got a warm round of applause.

Li Keqiang met the same day with Chinese embassy staff and representatives of Chinese companies, overseas Chinese and Chinese students in Switzerland.
