On September 24, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended a dinner co-hosted by National Committee on United States (US)-China Relations, US-China Business Council, US Chamber of Commerce and Council on Foreign Relations in New York, and delivered a keynote speech.
Wang Yi said, it is nothing new that there is competition and disagreement between us. However, we must not let our mind be controlled by prejudice and apprehension, or let our relationship be defined by conflict and confrontation. What we need is to have those differences properly handled, and keep working to expand common ground while setting aside and reducing differences, so as to create space for dialogue and open up prospects for cooperation.
